Celebrate COVID-safe Pride Month

Pride Month is right around the corner, and you may be wondering what it entails. It’s basically a whole month that represents and acknowledges the LGBTQ+ community.

If you plan to celebrate, even though businesses are beginning to open back up, people are receiving vaccinations and there seems to be a light at the end of this dark tunnel, it’s still important to be cautious. Here’s a list of ways you can celebrate Pride Month that is COVID-friendly:

First on the list is baking. This pandemic has brought out the inner-chef in many people, so putting those newly-learned skills into practice is highly recommended. You could bake treats to match the rainbow pride flag or you could represent other flags such as the lebsian, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, non-binary, etc. flags.

Next is watching Netflix on Netflix Party. It’s an additional feature where you can stream movies and shows in a group with other people. Netflix offers a variety of programs that include LGBTQ+ characters and storylines.

Another way to celebrate is to support LGBTQ+ businesses and creators. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has had seriously negative impacts on businesses worldwide. However, some businesses some businesses that are worth checking out include Otherwild, Boy Smells, Fluide and QueerKwe Designs.A few creators you should check out are Sam Smith, Amanda Stenberg, Josie Totah and  Kehlanj.

Although it’s tempting to go all out for Pride Month this year,  it isn’t completely safe yet to attend large gatherings and be in public without a mask. Stay protected and have a wonderful Pride Month!
