In-N-Out is overrated. That’s it. That’s the Headline.

The pinnacle of California fast food, In N Out Burger, is an appraised classic that customers have enjoyed since 1948. It has a simple menu: burgers, fries and shakes with little variation since its opening. While many adore that simplicity, it’s time we all faced a hard truth: In N Out is overrated.

There truly is nothing noteworthy about In N Out. They have average shakes, mediocre burgers and probably the worst fries I’ve had at a fast food joint. While they do deserve praise for paying their workers a better wage than most burger places, that’s about it.

The main appeal of In N Out was its confinement to California, which is now nonexistent due to recent expansion. It’s the exclusivity of it being in only one small area of the country that makes the food taste better than it truly is.

However, taste is subjective. In N Out is the favorite of many, so that counts for something. With the new Tualatin location, In N Out will be more accessible and everyone can truly decide for themselves if it’s all that. I mean, is it worth that hour-long line?
