Wolf staff suggest new shows for your 2021 binge
February 1, 2021
Emily Phuong Tran, feature editor: “Borgen,” “Sherlock.”
Emma J Nelson, co-editor-in-chief: “Schitt’s Creek”! It has some fantastic queer representation, and it’s really funny.
Teagan Gaviola, co-editor-in-chief: “Jujutsu Kaisen” → It’s a crazyyyy anime that I just started and it has such lovable and amazing characters, plus it has really great writing and plot. If you like occult fiction, dark fantasy, and general adventure shows, “Jujutsu Kaise”n is a great pick! So far, there’s only 14 episodes so it’ll be a great show to binge watch (even in one sitting if you’re dedicated enough lmao). If you want a show recommendation that’ll make you cry, watch “Banana Fish” (I’m pretty sure it’s on Hulu or Amazon Prime). It’s a great mafia-related anime with outstanding characters. I watched it a long time ago and I still think about it frequently haha!
Lily Bennett, staff writer: “The Great British Baking Show.” Funny accents and overall happy vibes, because who doesn’t enjoy baked goods?
Cassia Tippett, bilingual editor: “Bridgerton” (A little saucy but good show).
Stella Fetherston, art editor: “The Midnight Gospel”- It’s a really trippy animated show directed by Pendleton Ward. It’s based off of a podcast, and it ends up having a lot of good conversations surrounding spirituality, forgiveness and grief.
Kayla Wolf, staff writer: “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist”- It’s a musical that is hilarious and heart-wrenching all in one. Also it has some good race and LGBTQ+ representation, which is a huge plus!
Claire Roach, staff writer: “The Queen’s Gambit.”
Mahathi Sridhar, entertainment editor: “The Crown.”
Ava Wittman, staff writer: “The Rookie” – a fascinating cop show with lots of action and great humor. “Sex and the City”- raunchy as the name suggests but a classic that outlines female intrapersonal relationships very well. “Law and Order SVU”- Not the best light-hearted show for this time period, but a good show nonetheless.
Ethan Glick, staff writer: “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.”
Maya Brisan, staff writer: “The Good Place.”
Amanda Fronczak, staff writer: “Santa Clarita Diet.”
Evan Frazier, sports editor: “Stranger Things.”
Ava Bruce, staff writer: “Grand Army.”
Hannah Figueroa-Velazquez, opinion editor: “One Day at a Time.”
