As the 2021-22 school year wraps up, The Wolf decided to check in with a couple more senior athletes who have recently committed to play sports in college: Caleb Lakeman, Cole Prusia and Max Clanton.

Caleb Lakeman, track & field and cross country

Attending Georgetown University

What was the recruiting process like?

“Very fun because I got to talk to a lot of different coaches and got to go on visits to a lot of different schools.”

What ultimately led to you choosing Georgetown?

The culmination of the team culture, my relationship with the coach, the location and just a plain gut feeling.”

Do you have a favorite memory from your high school athletics career?

“Winning cross country Districts as a team in 2019.”

What are you most looking forward to for next year?

“Having a bunch of friends that I train with every day.”

Cole Prusia, football

Attending University of Oregon

How long have you been playing football?

“I have been playing football since second grade.”

What was the recruiting process like?

“It was hectic. I had a lot of attention on me as well as phone calls and scouting camps, especially after junior year.”

What ultimately led to you choosing University of Oregon?

“I chose to go there because it’s close to home and they have a great program with amazing coaches.”

Do you have a favorite memory from your high school athletics career?

“Yes, beating West Linn twice in a single season.”

What are you most looking forward to for next year?

Getting bigger, faster, stronger. Playing in one of the loudest stadiums in college football and learning more about the game I love.”

Max Clanton, football

Attending University of Washington

How long have you been playing football?

“I have been playing for about eight years.”

What was the recruiting process like?

It was a bit weird because I only played two and a half seasons due to a knee injury.”
What ultimately led to you choosing Washington?

“It’s a really good school and one of the best D3 football programs in the nation, so that was a big part of my decision. I also really liked the culture that the coaches had established and the team was just a lot of fun to be around.

Do you have a favorite memory from your high school athletics career?

Either the first or second time we beat West Linn. Both times were just electric, and it was just an awesome experience.

What are you most looking forward to for next year?

Just having a fresh start and getting to meet a lot of new people.

Tualatin athletes, you will be missed. Good luck in college!
