The urge to clean your room might come to you in the middle of Spring Break. When the time comes, it can be difficult to decide what to keep and what to throw away.
Ask yourself three questions when you encounter something you’re not sure about keeping. Does it have memories? Is it replaceable? Have you ever thought about it before finding it again? With these three questions, you should be able to decide if it’s worth keeping or not.
The Wolf interviewed senior Juan Orozco about what he thought he might keep while spring cleaning.
“A hat that I got during a rodeo when I was a kid,” he said. “It’s something that I never usually wear outside of special occasions, but it’s one of the things with the most memories I have.”
Approaching your spring cleaning with a plan in mind, like the three questions above, can help you make difficult decisions.
“I’m pretty unsure about what to keep or not, so having these in mind could help me more than usual,” Orozco said.
As Spring Break is only a couple of days away, you should prepare to clean. The weather is hopefully going to be sunny, and what’s better than a clean room with sunny weather? If the time comes where you’re thinking about keeping an item in your bedroom, refer back to this and ask yourself the three questions again: does it have memories? Is it replaceable? Have you ever thought about it before finding it again?
