Elizabeth Graham, a particularly accomplished senior, has a lot to look forward to in the coming year. Between her achievements in high school and possibilities in the future, The Wolf asked Graham a few questions to get her take on this moment in her life,
Why did you choose Cornell?
“I chose Cornell because I genuinely felt like I belonged there. I went on a lot of visits for track, and Cornell was the only East Coast college I visited. I expected to feel out of place there, but honestly I felt the most at home there, and I could picture my life really well. I also loved the people there, and community is one of the most important things for me, so that checked a big box. I decided that this would be the perfect time to explore the East Coast, because, especially with track, I’ll be traveling often. It was a leap of faith, but I knew it was going to push me and help me grow as a person, so I’m excited to see how it goes.”
What are you studying and why?
“Right now, I’m leaning towards studying the health sciences. I’ve always been the most interested in my science classes, and I love being able to explain the “why” behind things. I’m not exactly sure what profession I’ll end up in, but I will not be surprised if it is something in healthcare.”
What will you miss most about Tualatin?
“I’ll miss my track coaches the most, honestly. They’ve been with me through so much and have helped a lot with my character development both on and off the track. They’re also the funniest people I know, so I’ll miss having them around every day.”
Although Graham’s time at Tualatin High School has come to an end, it’s nice to know she made the best of it and will be entering her future equipped with skills that will allow her to succeed.
