Spending time with relatives is great, and with graduation, a big influx of them are going to be coming into town to watch your big day. However, a house full of relatives messing up your routine can get annoying quick. So, to get your relatives out of the house and keep your sanity, here are a couple of places around Oregon you can take your family.
Starting farthest from Tualatin, we have Pacific City beach. It has lots of room for big families and great viewpoints at the top of the hill. There are lots of restaurants just a short walk away; one of my favorite places is Ben and Jeff’s Burgers and Tacos.
If you can’t sit in the car for an hour and 40 minutes listening to the never-ending chatter of your uncle’s political debates, then Multnomah Falls is a much better option. Only 50 minutes away, Multnomah Falls is home to the tallest waterfall in all of Oregon. You can walk up to the bridge to take pictures, or you can hike to the top for the view if you are up for the adventure.
Another must see in Oregon is the International Rose Test Garden. Located about 30 minutes away in Portland and showcasing more than 10,000 roses, the Rose Garden is a beautiful place to take relatives. Additionally, with the roses just starting to bloom, there couldn’t be a better time to check it out.
Also in downtown Portland is Powell’s Books, the world’s largest independently owned bookstore at 68,000 square feet. Perfect for any book lover, it has three floors that are color coded by genre.
Whether it be a nature landmark, cool bookstore or nice restaurant, the places to take visiting family seem to be as endless as they are fun and interesting.
