Many wonder, what happens when you graduate from Tualatin High School? Life beyond high school is masked by curiosity, exploration and fear of the unknown. To get an inside look at life after graduating, we asked Wolf alumnae and former ASB president Olivia Trone for a scoop on her life now.
What school do you go to?
Trone: I go to Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah!
What are you majoring in?
Trone: I am majoring in Accounting and minoring in Spanish.
What do you do in your daily life?
Trone: Accounting is a pretty demanding major, so my days tend to consist mostly of classes and homework. I like to exercise every day and get dinner with friends, as well. On Fridays, I don’t have classes so I catch up on homework and anything else I need to finish for the week. I hang out with friends and family on the weekends if I don’t have any homework to catch up on. While I do have a lot of free time in college, a lot ends up being spent on homework.
How did being on The Wolf help you later on?
Trone: Being on The Wolf staff has helped me so much in college. Not only did it teach me good collaboration skills, but it also taught me the importance of journalism and community.
Have you used anything you learned from when you were on The Wolf staff?
Trone: I use skills I learned from The Wolf a ton! The amount of writing and editing I did has helped me succeed in college. Being a part of the newspaper staff was one of my favorite parts of high school, and it taught me the importance of community, in addition to good writing and editing skills.
Thanks to Wolf alumnae Olivia Trone, we got an insider scoop on the typical college life and what might come after high school. While college life will be different for everyone, it doesn’t hurt to be more prepared for the future.
