Each week, Crumbl Cookies releases a new lineup of baked delicacies. Senior editors of The Wolf Marc Khanna and Kayla Vo tried out the lineup before Thanksgiving week, with exciting cookies such as the Lemon Cheesecake and the Mint Mallow Sandwich. Here are their thoughts:
Oatmilk Skillet Cookie: 2.25/10
Khanna: I’m sorry but this was genuinely one of the worst cookies I’ve ever had. The cream was bland and the texture was kind of slimy in a sense. It also created a mess in my car. Proudly 3.3/10.
Vo: Wow. This cookie genuinely activated my gag reflex. I agree with Marc: it was slimy. But also, it was as hard as a rock. It’s difficult to describe how revolting the taste was, but I don’t recommend figuring it out yourself. This is deserving of a 1.2/10.
Mint Mallow Sandwich: 4.65/10
Khanna: Chocolate fans will love this, but personally, I thought the chocolate was too much, and I couldn’t really taste the mint frosting. It was more like a brownie than a cookie. In my opinion, a mint Oreo is better, unfortunately. 5/10.
Vo: This was pretty enjoyable, but I can still taste it days later, and I don’t enjoy that feeling. It’s very thick – it’s almost too much. One bite and we both put the cookie down. I wish there was more mint filling. It was refreshing! 4.3/10.
Lemon Cheesecake: 7.35/10
Khanna: The aftertaste was amazing, but the thickness of the cookie was too much for me. Two bites in, my stomach said no. The real lemon slice on top was a fun and unique touch, though. 7.5/10 for me.
Vo: I ate the lemon slice and that was the best part. The aftertaste was delicious, but it was so rough chewing to get to that point. I still fought for that flavor, though. 7.2/10.
Churro: 7.2/10
Khanna: This was tasty; however, there was way too much frosting, and it just made it so sweet and ruined it. Less frosting would make this cookie so much better, so 6.6/10.
Vo: ASB told me I would really like this one, and I was so disappointed. It was just frosting with a side of cookie. It wasn’t bad, just not as great and magnificent as I thought it would be. I’ll give this a 7.8/10.
Classic Peanut Butter: 7.5/10
Khanna: I’m usually not a big fan of peanut butter, but this cookie wasn’t too sweet, and it was so soft it just melted in my mouth. The flavor was similar to a Reese’s, and overall, I was pretty impressed. A solid 7/10.
Vo: I LOVE peanut butter, so this one was my favorite even before trying it. The texture was beautiful. If it was warm, it would’ve been a 10/10. But still, the perfect cookie: 8/10.
Confetti: 6/10
Khanna: Although it was a simple cookie, it didn’t disappoint. With just the right amount of crunch and balanced sweetness, it showed that sometimes, maybe plain cookies are good, if not better than extravagant ones. I give it a 6/10.
Vo: My senses enjoyed this one: it smelled, tasted and looked amazing. I love sprinkles! And it reminded me of raw cake batter, which made this cookie even better. I agree with Marc’s rating as well, 6/10.
This week’s lineup averaged out to a dissatisfying score of 5.8/10. Even with a disappointing list of overpriced cookies, this brings Kayla’s 170 Crumbs closer to reaching Crumbl’s Pink Status.
