Over the course of the years, the concept of Black Friday has changed significantly. Back in the early 2000s, Black Friday deals were the cause of all the chaos that erupted. Black Friday was known as the day people get most, if not all, of their Christmas and holiday shopping done. That’s just how good the deals were. The crowds, long lines and shoving were all a part of the experience, as well.
Over time, Black Friday deals started getting worse and worse, and the idea of online shopping also became widely popular. More and more people started to prefer shopping online over going to stores to avoid crowds, and there are better and more deals online. Also, the comfortability of shopping at home is appealing to most people. The rave of Black Friday has died down as a result of this.
However, there are still a good amount of people who choose to shop in stores. They enjoy the experience of physically being in stores, as well as being able to try on clothes and make memories.
“Online shopping definitely has better deals, but shopping in stores allows me to try on clothes and to see if I like them,” Tualatin High School junior Cole Runnels said. “This prevents me from having to return things if I don’t like them, and returning things is a big hassle for me.”
