From Japan to Sunriver, vacation destinations have no boundaries for this year’s 2025 Spring Break. A valued time of year for many, Spring Break plans consist of spending time with friends, getting out in the sun and, most commonly, visiting family.
A popular destination year in and year out is always Hawaii; it’s perfect if you are visiting loved ones or enjoying the beautiful island weather. Some popular islands to visit this time of year include Maui and Kauaʻi, with tourist destinations such as Haleakala Crater on Maui and Waimea Canyon State Park on Kauaʻi.
Another common reason for traveling during this nine-day break is to see siblings and other family members in college. This time of year is one of the only times to get away and is a great time to visit siblings who live far away.
Sophomore Jenelie Villanueva is going to visit her sister, The Wolf graduate Juliana Villanueva, at Creighton University this spring.
“I’m excited to see my sister and eat the food in Nebraska,” she said. “There was this steak place that was really good that I’m looking forward to visiting again.”
However, not only are people traveling within the country, but people also utilize this time to travel internationally. Junior Jamie Mitsuyoshi is one of the few people traveling internationally for Spring Break; she is planning to visit Japan for her cousin’s wedding.
What is Mitsuyoshi most excited for?
“I’m really excited to see family, go to Disney Sea and eat lots of food!”
In addition to Japan, a popular international vacationing location this time of year is Mexico. Cities such as Puerto Vallarta and Cancún are home to beautiful beaches and touristy resorts. A popular location in Cancún is Playa Delfines, a white-sand beach with regular dolphin sightings, perfect for a sunny day. In addition, the Malecon Boardwalk is a great place to visit in Puerto Vallarta, filled with works by famous artists expressing different cultures and histories.
This Spring Break is a great time to explore different places around the world or simply spend time with your family. Whether you are staying home or going on vacation, make sure to utilize the time off and spend time doing the things you love.
