Find time to say, “Goodbye, grudges!”

Brooke Stewart, Staff Writer

Almost everyone has held a grudge. This means that the individual will never let go of that one memory; they’ll always hold on to it.

These grudges give them a reason to feel they “hate” a certain individual when they pass them in the halls. Or it gives them a justifiable reason why they give nasty looks to certain people every time they pass them.

People also hold grudges because it gives them a reason to be sad or mad, but is it necessary to hold onto a memory if all you’re using it for is for pity views from your peers?

Don’t get me wrong. Maybe you are holding onto your grudges for a different reason. I don’t know, but the individuals that I know who hold grudges do it for pity views. But I know it’s time to let go of them.

If it happened an hour ago, a day, a month or even multiple years ago, it’s time to let it go.

As humans, we hold onto things that make us sad and mad because we don’t know what will happen when we let go of them. We’re scared to let go of our past because it has shaped us into who we are, but what if your past has destroyed you as an individual and you’re no longer happy with yourself or proud of yourself?

Then it may just be the perfect time to let go of your grudges. Free yourself from the painful past you’re holding on to. Don’t allow old memories of lost friends drag you down. Let go of the fight you had with parents. Despite what has been dragging you down, it’s time to let go and be yourself again
