With the end of the year swiftly approaching, seniors have been excitedly preparing their caps and gowns for graduation. Along with this, many have been gathering photos to keep hold of the memories of their final semester. For juniors, some are preparing for their senior year, thinking mostly of their future careers or ventures after graduation.
However, some aren’t as aware of the other enticing aspects of senior year. One thing they can look forward to is senior photos, which give seniors the opportunity to have a more sophisticated and personalized class picture.
Senior Natalie Shepherd gave some insightful tips and information about her own senior photos.
“To get the perfect photos, you really just have to be comfortable with your photographer. Act natural and don’t be awkward about it. That’s how you get good candids.”
She recommended adding your own personal touch to the shoot and emphasized how much of a difference this made in her own.
“Personally, I took my photos in the forest. A lot of my inspiration was from having grown up in the Pacific Northwest. I like that kind of forested environment, and I wanted to make them a little fun and whimsical.”
Finally, she explained the importance of having these pictures and why it really matters.
“I think it’s important because there are a lot of things you need your photos for throughout senior year. It’s also just a fun way to start your year and a great way to represent or express yourself.”
With juniors approaching their final year of high school, it’s integral for them to understand why these traditions are traditions to begin with. Seniors get to remember this period of their lives through beautiful photographs and hold the memories for years to come.
