Disney streams classics, new content

Disney+ is a new streaming video service from the entertainment giant Disney, launched on Nov. 12. According to consumers, it has great features and there’s a lot to like, but there are also a few areas where Disney could improve for their users.

Compliments

Disney+ contains a lot of content, including movies and TV shows that accommodate both young and old. For example, Disney+ carries films ranging from all the Star Warsmovies to Peter Panand Beauty and the Beastalong with other content like its new Star

Warsshow “The Mandalorian.” It also offers downloads on phones and tablets via Wi-Fi and cellular data for watching on the go, so quick downloads for long plane or car rides are possible.

Best of all, Disney+ works at the quality of the large entertainment companies such as Netflix, Amazon Video and Hulu, so it does not have any issues with dropped streams or loss of quality.

Disney+ is $6.99 a month or $69.99 per year, making it more affordable than competitors such as Netflix, which has a base cost of $8.99 per month. Finally, it’s one of the easiest apps to set up on third-party devices such as the Amazon Fire TV. Instead of having to face obstacles including entering one’s username and password into a web browser or typing it out onto an onscreen keyboard, it’s as easy as opening the Disney+ app, and you’re logged in.

Complaints

First, there is no “continue watching” section or an option to start shows or movies where you left off. Netflix offers this user-friendly feature, and many consumers feel Disney should follow suit. Also, unlike other streaming services, Disney+ does not offer the feature of pausing the stream by simply pressing the space button on a computer. Finally, many Disney+ passwords were sold on the dark web recently, althoughDisney denies they were hacked. This may be the result of people reusing passwords that were already compromised. This vulnerability could be reduced if Disney added a two-factor authentication, sending a message to a phone to verify that it’s actually the account holder who logged in.

Disney+ offers a seven-day free trial for new users. Online reviewers argue it is worth checking out the quirks and features of Disney+, as it’s one of the cheapest streaming services available, it includes a ton of new and old content and original shows such as “The Mandalorian” and it requires simple setup.
