Meet the Wolf: Naiya Gates and Mahathi Sridhar

The Wolf caught up with sophomore staff writers Naiya Gates and Mahathi Sridhar to learn about their experience on staff, life goals and deepest secrets!

Question: What is your favorite part of being on The Wolfstaff?

Naiya Gates: Spending time in class having crazy conversations with the other staff members (after I finish my articles, of course).

Mahathi Sridhar: The people! Everyone is so supportive and fun, and we always have a great time.

Q: What is your favorite section to write for? 

NG: Humor- It’s fun to incorporate my sarcasm into my writing.

MS: Opinion- It’s really special to be able to have a platform where I can voice my opinions.

Q: Why did you join the newspaper staff?

NG:I wanted to surround myself with other people who weren’t afraid to express their thoughts to others. I like that they care about discussing important things happening in the world.
MS: My sister was on staff last year and it was one of her favorite classes. I also thought it was really cool to be able to write about things that affect the whole school.

Q: When you are not writing for The Wolf, what do you spend your time doing?

NG: Stalking Timothée Chalamet.

MS: Protecting Timothée Chalamet from stalkers.

Dream vacation:

NG: Italy (I <3 pasta).

MS: Planet Kepler-132e.

Celebrity crush:

NG:Timothée Chalamet (I liked him first).

MS: Timothée Chalamet (Naiya didn’t even know who he was until like two weeks ago).

Hidden talent:

NG: Singing at the top of my lungs in the XC team room with Mahathi.

MS:  A se(XC) a capella duet with Naiya (just ask the XC team).

Favorite starburst flavor:

NG: Orange.

MS: Strawberry.

Animal that represents you the most:

NG: Slug.
