Spring break is creeping just around the corner, and how we choose to spend our luxurious time away from IAs and hard tests is important.

The Wolf suggests that this spring break, you should try to get outside as much as possible. Enjoy a picnic with friends or family, go for a hike or walk a pet of yours. Some nearby areas to appreciate this spring break include Bryant Woods Nature Park, Tryon Creek State Natural Area and Maricara Natural Area. These areas are a great place to unwind and enjoy the precious time we’re given during spring break.

Spring is the season of cleaning. Even if you are not a fan of cleaning or organizing, spring break is a great time to try new things. Start by picking up your room, then try the bathroom and, before you know it, you will realize cleaning is not as bad as it seems! Cleaning and organizing will clear your mind and help you put school stressors behind you.

Visit the Oregon Zoo or the Portland Japanese Garden. When was the last time you visited the Oregon Zoo? Be honest, it has been too long. The Oregon Zoo is an adventurous place to blow off steam from the school year and is a beautiful sight to see in the spring. The Portland Japanese Garden is a sensational destination as well. You will discover that the serene peacefulness is exactly what is needed in a time of stress.

Try using this time to pick up new hobbies; spring is the time to try new things. If you have ever thought of a hobby you wish to try, this spring break is the perfect time. Explore creative outlets such as art, writing, music or reading. Each of these you may try with no restrictions; all you have to do is find a calm place to begin creating. When beginning the process, try not to think of a template to follow. Instead, engage your imagination!

Above all else, use the time during spring break to put yourself first, and find some way to relax!
