As the leaves transition into fall, so do the Trader Joe’s (TJ’s) aisles. Every fall season, customers crowd the TJ’s stores in hopes of trying the new fall treats. Junior Sofia Constanza joined two Wolf staff members, Lyan Abdulhaq and Nethra Balakumar, on this fall haul.
Maple Pancake Flavored Puffs:
Abdulhaq: “It tastes like sweet Pirates Booty. A solid 9/10. I really like that.”
Balakumar: “The scent really throws me off. But it’s actually really good. I give it a 9/10.”
Constanza: “It smells like a candle. It’s really good though. 9/10.”
Pumpkin Pie Spiced Donut Holes:
Abdulhaq: “The pumpkin flavor is not very noticeable. I can taste a hint of spices and some vanilla. Maybe we have tried too many fall things and it is throwing us off. 7/10.”
Balakumar: ”It honestly doesn’t even taste like pumpkin. It tastes like a glazed donut hole.” 7/10
Constanza: “The pumpkin is very subtle, but it is really delicious. 6.7/10.”
Juicy Apple Gummy Candy:
Abdulhaq: “I like how chewy it is, and the filling gives it an interesting texture compared to standard gummies. 8.5/10.”
Balakumar: “It is so hard to chew, and the filling inside tastes just like cough syrup. I give it a 4/10.”
Constanza: “It is really hard to chew but I like it. It is an 8/10.”
Salted Maple Ice Cream:
Abdulhaq: “It is a bit sweet but not the worst. It tastes like fluffed-up maple syrup or the maple butter that TJ’s also sells. I give it a 6/10.”
Balakumar: “I think it has too much maple in it; it tastes like I am eating maple syrup straight out of the bottle. I would give it a -2/10.”
Constanza: “It kind of tastes like a candle. 4/10.”
Pumpkin Blondie Brownies:
Abdulhaq: “Not my favorite flavor, and I am not a fan of the pecans, but the texture is really nice! 6/10.”
Balakumar: “I give it 5 big BOOMS. It
tastes just like pumpkin or banana bread. But I hate the nuts; they add a weird texture to the brownies. I think it would taste so much better without them. I give it an 8/10.”
Constanza: “It tastes like my grandma made this with her own two hands. 10/10.”
