As temperatures drop, the romanticizing of winter begins. The slow mornings, seasonal drinks and festive holidays make it easy to do so. I, however, experience a different kind of transition, one that costs me an arm and a leg, but makes this slow and miserable migration into the cold filled with cozy sweatfleece instead of dreary weather.
Unfortunately for the average consumer, Aritzia does not come cheaply. It is the kind of brand where you have to sit on a product for six months before deciding to lie in your financial ruin for comfort, or at least that’s what I do. These clothes are not priced for the common high schooler with a part-time job and some leftover babysitting money. However, the rewarding feeling of saving up and investing in a piece that
will last a lifetime, in quality and in trend, makes up for the questionable commitment.
If you don’t have six months to spare and need help picking your next winter staple, the cliMATTE Super Puff should already be on your mind. I have worn this jacket over 20 times this season, and we have not reached winter break yet. It’s the perfect addition to a thin, long-sleeved top or a short-sleeve that I cannot let go of from the summertime. This coat also comes in multiple different colors, sizes and lengths, making it a fun and inclusive option for the cold.
Last year, I would never show up to school wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. I prided myself in wearing jeans daily and tried to present myself in a good manner. That was, until I walked into Aritzia for the first time. The soft inside of their boyfriend barrel sweatpants and their mega raglan hoodie were unlike any other pieces I had put on. The comfort and fit of the sweatpants alone convinced me to take my pride elsewhere and give in to their sweatfleece collections, making it one of the best introduction pieces to this brand.
Beyond their winterwear and sweatfleece, Aritzia’s basics deserve the biggest honor. Their jeans and basic tops have been my savior in times of distress and have proved their rightful place in my closet. So if you are looking to survive the winter season in comfort and style, Aritzia may just be worth the six months of financial ruin.
