At the start of every school year, hungry Tualatin High School (TuHS) students pack our local streets of Tigard and Tualatin searching for places to eat. With the limited stand-alone restaurants nearby, students are presented an opportunity to try new food trucks.
If a food truck came to campus, would students go for it?
“I would totally go if we had one,” junior Sakina Siraj said. “I think that they usually serve better quality and richer tasting food, so it would be a good addition to the options we already have. I have had the same burrito from Taco Bell for the past three days, and I need to stop.”
Senior Durham Hudspeth took it even one step further,
“I would rather eat at food trucks even if it wasn’t on the Tualatin campus because I like trying new things,” he said. “I get bored with eating the same food daily and would rather add variety to my lunches.”
Wow Cow, owned by Jay Kwon, is the perfect Korean-American food truck to visit after school. Located in Tigard, it is easily accessible to most and sells food passed down from three generations.
Siraj and Hudspeth gave it a try and ordered Wow Fries, Sliders, Korean Philly and a Bop Bowl. Here is their review of the items they tried.
Would you order this again, or try something else?
Siraj: “I would definitely order the Wow Fries and the Sliders again.”
Hudspeth: “I would probably order the Korean Philly and the Wow Fries again.”
How does this compare to restaurant chains you usually eat at?
Siraj: “This is so much better.”
Hudspeth: “It is much better. I liked how they gave us the mini cows and cow stickers, and the food was great!”
