Fall has officially begun, and the school year is now in full swing. Although it’s fun to be back at school and getting to see your friends again, the work load can be a lot. One way to counteract the stress is partaking in fun fall activities with friends, and there is no better place to do so than at Lee Farms.
Located only 8 minutes away from downtown Tualatin, Lee’s offers a variety of entertainment options throughout the festive seasons. This fall, they have a collection of fun activities for families to enjoy. During the Fall Festival, they offer a pumpkin patch, hay rides, corn mazes, farm animals and so much more.
Besides the farm activities, they also offer delicious food options from their bakery. Only offered seasonally, the apple cider doughnuts are a must-buy when you go to Lee’s. These aren’t the only things you need to check out in the bakery. Along with the doughnuts, they also offer fresh baked pies, with over 12 flavors! And of course they also have apple cider available for purchase.
The weather for this fall should be pretty similar to others, but the Portland-Metro area is anticipating more than average rainfall this October. So, if you are planning to go to the farm, make sure you check the weather forecast before you go or buy tickets.
Lee Farms has been a family-operated farm since the 1980s and has been serving the people of Tualatin ever since then. There have been seven generations of Lee family members keeping the farm running. The farm originally opened to the public in the 1960s when the family started a strawberry field and opened it up for the public.
Lee Farms is the last working farm in Tualatin, which creates a sense of pride and protection over the farm for the people of Tualatin.
“I think it makes people like it a lot more, which is like, very justified because it’s just a really nice place to go, and the people who run it are just really nice,” sophomore Kayla Rogers said.
Not only does the farm provide fun activities, it also provides jobs for students. Lee Farms starts to hire workers at the age of 16, so it is a perfect first job for students. Rogers has worked at Lee’s for 14 months.
“Yes. I think it is very group oriented, like everyone does every task. It’s not just like you stay at the same place all day. It’s like you’re constantly moving around, which I like, and I like that I’m able to talk to people,” she said.
Let’s talk about prices. There are two options for the Fall Harvest Festival entry fee. The first option is a weekday bracelet and weekend bracelet that give you access to everything on the farm. The weekday bracelet is $14.95, and the weekend bracelet is $24.95. The other option is a general admission ticket, also offered for weekdays and weekends. Both tickets give you access to the farm grounds, but only include a few limited additional options. The pricing for the weekday ticket is $7.95, and the price for the weekend ticket is $14.95.
So, if you have a weekend coming up and you’re feeling stressed, text your friends and go to Lee Farms for a day full of fall festivities.
