This winter, we are seeing new fashion trends, as well as a few old trends that are making a comeback. We have been seeing a lot of patterns become more popular in clothing, but also in other accessories including nails, bags, glasses, etc.
In most cases, as we transition into the colder months, people start to lean into wearing more neutrals and dark tones like black, navy and burgundy. This year, however, fun patterns and lots of colors are taking over. Camo has been a big trend this year, along with other patterns such as polka dots, stripes and animal prints.
When it comes to expressing yourself, there are so many ways to show your style besides your clothes. Jewelry is a huge part of fashion, and in 2025, people are really stepping up their game. Mixing metals has become popular this year, along with chunky, eccentric jewelry staples.
The Wolf asked the students of TuHS to share their thoughts and opinions on the style trends of 2025.
What has been your favorite fashion trend in 2025?
Oliver Karmakar, junior: “My favorite trends from this year are wallet chains and thrifting.”
How do you think fashion has changed in 2025 compared to last year?
Blakely Carlson, junior: “I think that fashion is more elevated, rather than sweats and hoodies every day.”
How do you think fashion allows people to show their individuality?
Kamila Martinez, freshman: “Fashion allows people to express their personality and to be themselves.”
Just like Martinez said, fashion is a great way for people to be their true and authentic selves through clothing and accessories. That’s why it is always encouraged to take risks and be yourself.
