Superstar Zara Larsson has officially earned a seat at the pop-girl debate table with her most popular single, “Lush Life.” This intoxicating melody has taken over the internet, with everyone doing a coordinated dance to the song.
Off her second studio album, So Good, this hit was originally released as the lead single in 2017. However, it seems Gen-Z has brought her back into the spotlight for 2026, with the song spending nine weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
To get a true sense of just how popular Zara Larsson is with the younger generation, Art Rutkin 5th grader Bailey Lanz shared what her favorite song by Larsson was.
“My favorite song is ‘Midnight Sun’ because the beat of the song is giving rave,” Lanz said.
One of the most popular debates within the music industry is how Zara Larsson compares to the top “pop-girls,” such as Taylor Swift, Tate McRae and Sabrina Carpenter.
How would Lanz rank these artists?
“My ranking would be: Zara, Sabrina, Taylor, Tate, Olivia. I like Zara Larsson the best because her music is very catchy and some songs are giving pop girly and some songs are giving rave, which is a good mix.”
In addition to just streaming her music, Larsson is also currently on tour and made a stop in Portland on Feb. 28. Fans hope this is just the beginning of Zara Larsson’s billboard-worthy career.
