6ix9ine’s “TattleTales” falls flat during first week

6ix9ine’s newest album TattleTales fell flat on its face during its first week of sales. This is the  controversial rapper’s first album since he was released from jail after facing charges for alleged murder, racketeering, assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a firearm.

6ix9ine, whose legal name is Daniel Hernandez, was born on May 8, 1996 and exploded onto the rap scene in 2017 with “Gummo.” 6ix9ine’s album was expected to go straight to the top of the charts after massive amounts of trolling on Instagram and dissing other rappers such as Lil Durk for only getting 50k album sales first week, going down to O block and going to Nipsey Hussle’s mural.

TattleTales racked up a whopping 50,000 sales – far less than the 100+k sales predicted – with Big Sean taking Billboards no.1 spot with his album Detroit 2.

Why did TattleTales flop you may ask? It’s simple: 6ix9ine gets no radio playtime, no online promo and streaming services do not playlist his music. The reason behind all of this is he snitched on his crew “scum gang” according to court records and 6ix9ine’s friend DJ Akademiks, which has given him a very negative view in the public eye, and 6ix9ine keeps trolling with CEOs and artists signed to record labels and streaming services.

As DJ Akademiks said, ”No inner city hip hop station is going to play an artist being called a ‘rat.’”

But 6ix9ine’s career is far from over. He still has “GOOBA” with hundreds of millions of streams on most platforms, and is still in the public’s eye. As of right now, Tattletales has 55k certified album sales.
