Overheard at Graduation

Ethan Glick, Co-Entertainment Editor

Ah yes, high school graduation. Without question, it may be one of the most defining moments in many people’s lives. There’s so much pomp and circumstance that people sometimes forget about the little parts, like the funny conversations that can be overheard. So when you get tired of listening to the adults read a few hundred names, tune in to what’s going on around you, and get ready for some real entertainment.

Grad 1: Boy, how long is this thing gonna go on for?

Grad 2: I know right. Where’s the 20-minute schedule when we need it?

Teacher 1: Do you have your speech prepared?

Teacher 2: Are you kidding me? I’ve been waiting to say bye to them forever.

Grad 1: Oh man, I’m so hungry.

Grad 2: I would do anything for some Goldfish right about now.

Grad 1: Oh wait, I have some in my pocket.

Grad 2: I’m going to miss you, man.

Grad 1: Is anyone gonna tell them that their mic is off?

Grad 2: No, nobody will.

Teacher 1: Thank god I don’t have to teach John Doe anymore. What a pain.

Teacher 2: Oh, he didn’t tell you? His brother is going to be a freshman next year!

Well, there you have it folks! A few snippets of things you could potentially hear at graduation! Make sure to eavesdrop on all the conversations you see taking place. Yes, it’s creepy, but after graduation you never have to see these people again! Finally, a massive congratulations to our seniors!
