With winter break coming up, a lot of us might be having family over for a shared meal to celebrate the holidays. This is a great, enjoyable time to catch up and hang out with people you likely haven’t seen in a while.
I’m sure all of us have had at least one unpleasant meal because of what someone else said at the table. It’s mainly because of conversation on politics, relationships and dieting. To ensure that you get invited to the next one, here’s a list of some things you should avoid saying at family dinner.
-Someone’s hungry…
-The last time I ate this, I got food poisoning.
-Is grandma just taking a nap?
-Let’s keep the conversation light. Who did everyone vote for?
-I think my dentures fell in the mashed potatoes.
-Is something burning?
-I just used the last bit of toilet paper, by the way.
-Didn’t I see you going into the courthouse last week?
-How much money do you make at your new job?
-Maybe you should start chewing with your mouth shut.
-Do you mind if I just spend the night?
-Your house is quite messy.
-This food would be better if there was some ranch.
